Ok I’m Ticked Off Now..
My family loves to tell me how pessimistic I am about politics. They’ve even called me ‘Eeyore’ from time to time. For those of you who don’t know, Eeyore is a cartoon donkey in the Winnie the Pooh stories that is always sad.

I’m always pessimistic because I think I’m realistic. Whenever someone becomes excited about a new political movement or politician, I tell them not to get their hopes up - they will always be disappointed.
I tell people on both sides of political ideologies this.
Two people I like to follow for their podcasts are Tom Woods and Scott Horton. Like me they are both libertarians. The both have a general rule about politics.
Tom Woods: “No matter who you vote for, you elect John McCain”.
Scott Horton: “If a politician campaigns on something you really like, guaranteed they won’t do it once they’re in office. If a politician promises something you think is really bad, you can pretty much bank on them doing it in office.”
Both people are pessimists as well, as you can see.
Lots of libertarians regard John McCain as the ultimate establishment figure who did tons of stuff to grow government and support policies that were really bad for the world.
Usually I don’t really care who wins the election because I think both American political parties are just two different wings of the same bird of prey.
This past election was different. I’m not a huge Trump fan, but I was a big Bobby Kennedy fan.
Emphasis on the word..’was’.
RFK Jr, came out with this on X yesterday:
I came to Gaines County, Texas, today to comfort the Hildebrand family after the loss of their 8-year-old daughter Daisy. I got to know the family of 6-year-old Kayley Fehr after she passed away in February. I also developed bonds with and deep affection for other members of

Before becoming head of Health and Human Services, RFK Jr talked extensively about how vaccines such as the MMR may be linked to autism.
For the record, I don’t know whether vaccines cause autism or don’t. I would just like to see some unbiased studies on it. What I do know is that he just flipped his position entirely to endorse the standard government/pharmaceutical line:
“The most effective way to prevent the spread of measles is the MMR vaccine.”
A couple of points on this:
Lots of his biggest fans are questioning their support for him after he changed his position
The two measles deaths are looking more and more like medical incompetence than lack of measles vaccine.
He’s concentrating on a small outbreak of measles when we have an enormous chronic disease problem.
RFK Jr is just going with the standard media narrative, despite all the times he was skewered by the media.
I can’t believe I was duped again.
Many of you may say that we all make mistakes. That it’s only two months into his job so cut him some slack.
That’s what my family has told me for almost three decades of new administrations.
“Just wait”, they would say.
So I ask my family to put their money where their mouth is. Let’s have a friendly bet. And on the bright side I’ve won a lot of steak dinners from them.
What RFK Jr said seems very bad to me. I just don’t understand why they sell out so quickly.
Or maybe I’m wrong? Maybe it’s too early to tell and he just made a mistake?
Wanna bet?
