What Has RFK Done for You Lately?

Robert F Kennedy Jr. was confirmed as the US Health and Human Services Secretary on February 13th, 2025.

So he’s been in his position for about a month.

I was curious to see what he has accomplished in that last month. As everyone does, I googled.

If you click on the link, or google yourself, you’ll not find much. Frustrating. Makes you think (if you trust Google) that he hasn’t really done anything.

Then I moved on to X. X seems to be more tolerant of free speech so I was hoping to find information there.

First I looked up RFK’s profile as the HHS Secretary. I also found this post. Looks like he’s been busy. Among his to do list that he’s accomplished in the first month:

  • Convened a meeting with top food executives to encourage them to remove harmful food additives and dyes from their products

  • Directed the FDA to close loopholes that allow unregulated chemicals in processed foods.

  • Instructed the FDA to revise the ‘Generally Recognized as Safe’ (GRAS) rule. This rule currently permits companies to self-affirm the safety of new food ingredients without FDA oversight.

  • RFK Jr. chaired the inaugural meeting of the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) Commission. The commission aims to investigate the incidence and causes of chronic childhood diseases. It also assesses the prevalence and threat posed by various prescription medications.

  • Initiating a Comprehensive Vaccine Safety Study. He directed the CDC to conduct a large-scale study examining potential links between vaccines and autism.

  • Encouraging Healthier Ingredients in Fast Food. Under RFK Jr.’s guidance, several fast-food chains have begun to eliminate harmful additives.

Now I’m a libertarian by political affiliation. I’m not a fan of government overseeing everything I do. There are just too many examples of the government passing legislation that sounds great, but has the opposite effect.

Think of:

Overall I continue to be encouraged by RFK Jr. A lot of what he is doing is meeting with industry executives and asking them to change. Granted when you have the US Federal Government behind you, you can be a bit more..ahem…persuasive.

However, talking to these executives is still highlighting that there are a lot of problems with processed foods. Hopefully that word is going out to the consumer. That is where the real change will come. When the grass roots start moving away from processed foods.

I become more nervous when he just asks for more FDA oversight. Too many good things become disallowed because the FDA hasn’t approved them. I can’t put a hyperbaric chamber in my assisted living homes because of the FDA.

His autism and vaccine study is wonderful as well. Sure a lot of people say this link is not true. Let’s have an objective study to prove it one way or the other. If we can have HHS spend $2 million studying kids when they look at Facebook ads about food, we can put this vaccine vs autism debate to rest.

And one last request for RFK Jr. Stop eating in fast food restaurants just because they switched to beef tallow from seed oils! The food still stinks nutrition-wise.

Lead by example! Eat low-carb, high-nutrition, sugar-free whole food. Plaster pictures and videos of RFK doing so everywhere. That’s how we make America healthy again.
