Hyperbaric Oxygen for My Residents

My staff and I have sent home 9 people from our assisted living homes. Those 9 people became healthy enough to move back home and live on their own.

Or live with their spouse and not need much help.

The trouble is, only two of those nine improved their cognitive decline enough to live on their own. The others had physical issues that resolved with lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise.

The physical ailments seem a lot easier to clear up than the cognitive ones.

Your body heals a lot quicker than your mind.

What about those two that recovered their memory? The difference was that we sent both of them to hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) treatments. And they followed through with them.

Hyperbaric oxygen is showing a lot of promise for helping people with dementia or some form of cognitive decline. Most of the significant improvements come with a combination of HBOT and other lifestyle interventions.

Interventions like:

  • A very healthy diet

  • Lots of exercise

  • Blood work and supplementation

  • Red light therapy

Interventions we do in our assisted living homes.

The trouble with HBOT is that it is expensive. Insurance doesn’t cover it for cognitive decline. A hard chamber like the video above costs around $140,000.

You can purchase soft chambers for your home, but they may not be able to produce the results the hard chambers can provide. Although we have seen and heard results from the soft chambers as well.

Another problem is that the Arizona Department of Health won’t let assisted living facilities put soft chambers in their buildings. They claim assisted living is not a ‘clinical’ setting.

I’m trying to fight this in the Arizona legislature. A state senator, Wendy Rogers, has helped me advance the bill through the State Senate. It is in the house now and hopefully will come up for a vote this year.

In the meantime we are trying to take people to HBOT therapy. The two people we sent home benefited from it. Their families had the means to pay for it.

Many of our other families don’t have the ability to pay.

It’s $132/session. We’ve negotiated the price down from $165/session. Typically people need at least 40 sessions to see significant changes.

There’s also a charge of $50/session for transportation to take them roundtrip. It’s about a half hour away and we’ve contracted with someone to take them.

We could split that charge if we had more people going.

So we thought we’d try a fundraiser. If you like this newsletter and what we’re doing with the elderly in our assisted living homes, we’d love it if you would consider donating a little to help our residents.

Every dime will go to therapy for our residents except for a small amount to cover some expenses with setting up the fundraiser.

I know the amount is a long shot. But the more people we can send through the therapy, the more others will believe in the effectiveness of HBOT.

Want to show the medical establishment there are better ways to heal than prescription drugs? Then please join us.

At the very least pray for us and share the fundraiser link far and wide. 100% of the donations will go to the residents minus a small amount to pay for the video editing.
